Learn Important Features of the Flop Eared Rabbit

Flop eared rabbit is a cute and wonderful pet for its extraordinary and lovely look. The floppy ears signify its name, which is also called lop eared rabbit. It is gentle by nature and looks very impressive with the healthy round shape of its body. Different varieties, of the animal exist with varied looks and attitudes that make them very special kind of pets. The pioneer in the category is the very common English lop.

You have to understand certain aspects of the species, if you are keen to take a pet of this kind.  You must know the particular pellets for the rabbit to be given as daily food. The food is offered according to body weight, which you get from the pet store where you also get the details of the food chart of different kinds of rabbits with different weights. Hence, the knowledge of body weight of your pet is important. Over and above the daily food requirement, you have to provide extra energy nourishment to the animal through green vegetables every day. The full detail of the food system is better known from the pet store person or the vet.

You can make two types of arrangements for your flop eared rabbit. If you want it to stay inside the house, you need to make the floor of the house clean so that the pet does not take bits of wire and other materials and gets injured. Rabbits have a nature of chewing everything that they can get.  The alternative is to make a cage for keeping the pet outside the house in the garden. The cage should be wide enough to enable the rabbit to make easy movements and play. Take care of the base of the cage which should be plain to feel like the floor of a house. Make arrangements to keep the cage clean every day. Check the pet daily and take out all loose hairs to help it to remain clean, which rabbits love. Maintain a careful watch on the food habits and general behavior of the pet so that any obvious change is quickly detected and proper treatment is provided to the animal by the vet.

There are several kinds of these fantastic pets, which you get in the pet store. Though the oldest and largest is the English one, you get many others such as Holland lop, which is the smallest of the kind or the miniature lop and the American lop is somewhat bigger in the same category, known as Mini lop. The German lop is bigger than the above variety and is not very popular relative to the small size flop eared rabbit, which is truly a cute pet for your house.

Proper dental care of a hedgehog.

Hedgehogs are the most recent craze among animal lovers. They amazingly gentle creatures and cuddly, despite the fact that they have quills. Hedgehogs are relatively easy to keep but they do have a few special needs that need to be met. One of these needs is a high protein diet. In the wild, hedgehogs typically consume various insects like crickets, all kinds of worms including inset larvae, grasshoppers, beetles, and other bugs. They may also eat fruit if it’s available but the bulk of their diet is mainly composed of insects. This high-protein diet is a bit difficult to replicate for your pet hedgehog. High protein dog or cat food will do, but the problem with most commercial pet food is that it incorporates a lot of artificial coloring, additives, and extenders (like corn) that may be harmful to your hedgehog. You can supplement their diet with fresh fruit, crunchy vegetables like lettuce and carrots, as well as live insects like mealworms or crickets. The latter can easily be bought from your local fish store. They’re used to feed bigger carnivorous fish like arowanas and cichlids.

A poor diet consisting of commercially bought food alone will result in an underweight hedgehog. This may also cause all sorts of health issues, not the least of which is malnutrition but also including dental caries and mouth sores. A hedgehog in the wild usually has a steady access to teeth strengthening minerals like calcium, phosphorus, fluoride, and Vitamin D. They get it from the insects themselves and from bits of the inevitable dirt they eat along with the insects they consume. Fruit gives them a steady source of Vitamin C which will limit the chances of forming mouth sores.

It’s a common misconception among pet owners that just because animals don’t brush their teeth in the wild, we can do away with any type of dental hygiene for our pets altogether. While it is true that animals in the wild do not have access to dental facilities, that doesn’t mean they’re healthier. As a matter of fact, animals in the wild suffer from teeth and gum disease a lot. Their domesticated versions are not much better off unless proper attention is being given by their owners to their dental health.

Sign that your pet hedgehog is suffering from dental problems are the following: tenderness or swelling around the jaws, decreased appetite (probably due to difficulty chewing), teeth and gum swelling or discoloration, an unusually foul breath, and drooling. An immediate visit to the vet is warranted when you observe any of these signs in your hedgehog. The vet might have to take a few X-rays of your pet’s jaw just to make sure what’s causing the illness. Antibiotics are usually prescribed for infections while tooth extraction is done for impacted teeth.

To avoid having your pet hedgehog undergo treatment for dental problems, you can have its teeth regularly brushed by your vet. You can even do the brushing yourself, with or without toothpaste. You can use the brush they sell for babies which has very soft bristles and is inserted into a finger. If you happen to be wary of inserting a finger into your hedgehog’s mouth, you can use a regular toothbrush.

Marmoset monkeys: Pets or wild animals?

Ever since the discovery of the New World, it has been a fad among the upper class to keep wild and exotic animals. Usually not because they love keeping these animals as pets, but having one was basically a status symbol at the time. These days, keeping exotic pets is still in vogue, although it may be considered illegal depending on the species of the animal. One such endangered species sold and kept as a pet in the black market is the marmoset monkey.

Marmoset monkeys are also called long tailed monkeys. Their natural habitats are tropical rainforests where they live on a diet mainly consisting of fruit, insects and tree sap. Marmoset monkeys are relatively small and they don’t have opposable thumbs. Instead of fingernails that most other primates possess, they have long claws. Their social animals that prefer to live in groups as small as three individuals and as large as fifteen.

Marmoset monkeys have a great appeal as pets since full grown adults are still small enough to hold in one hand. They have soft fur and look adorable with a fringe of hair framing their simian faces. The common misconception people have about marmoset monkeys is that a monkey this small and this cute could not possibly be vicious. Marmoset monkeys are, in fact, wild animals and have not been domesticated like cats or dogs. Just because they act a little bit like a human, doesn’t mean that they won’t act like a wild animal. Anthropomorphism is the act of interpreting animal behavior as similar to, or congruent with, animal behavior. Thus, most people find monkey behavior cute because they are so much like a human’s. They smile when they’re happy and make sad faces when sad. They bare their teeth at anyone or anything that offends them. They’re even capable of using tools just like us. Marmoset monkeys are not ‘little people’. They’re wild animals and should be cared for with that in mind.

The inside of an apartment, even a big one, is not their natural habitat. Prolonged stay inside an enclosed area may even result in undue stress to a marmoset monkey used to living in tree tops. Stressed out monkeys will exhibit irritable behavior and may even develop psychosis. Potential buyers should also bear in mind that marmoset moneys live in troupes of three or more individuals, thus if you’re really committed to giving your marmoset monkey a good home, you should be prepared to erect an enclosure big enough for more than just two monkeys. Trees should be kept in mind when building the enclosure, as well as plenty of hiding places and exercise/play tools like swings, ropes, and ladders.

If you really want to take care of marmoset monkeys and maybe even breed from them, but don’t know how, the internet is a good place to begin your research on the do’s and don’ts of caring for a marmoset monkeys. Sanctuaries, zoos, and veterinarians are even better sources of information.

What To Consider When Buying A Teacup Chihuahua For Sale

Dogs can come in many different shapes and sizes to choose from when wanting to add this pet to your household. While there are many different dogs that can be bought, this article is written to give you some information into Teacup Chihuahua for sale, what to look for when buying one, and some of the pros and cons of this breed of dog. But first what is a Teacup Chihuahua?

A Teacup Chihuahua is a miniature version of the normal size Chihuahua. This particular dog is only very small and can literally fit into a teacup, hence the name that it is given. When looking to buy one of these pets for your home and life style here are a few things to think about.

When it comes to buying a Teacup Chihuahua it is important that you understand that because of their size they may take a little more caring than most other dogs. This breed of dog because of the size of it, can succumb to the cold easily. It is also said that they can have a few health problems because of the size and the ways that they are bred. Some people say that these dogs have been bred from the runt of the litter of normal Chihuahuas and therefore succumb to health problems from their size, as well as poor breeding or inbreeding.

When it comes to buying one, it may be best to buy one from a breeder that has a good reputation. While this may be a little more expensive, you can have peace of mind knowing that your dog should be in top health and have been well taken care of.

When buying a dog, no matter where you are buying it from, it is important that you do an inspection on the dog before handing any money over. Check the dog for runny eyes or a runny nose, inspect the coat to see whether it is shiny or dull, and observe the behavior of it to see whether it looks tired. If it has any of these appearances than it may mean that the Teacup Chihuahua may be in poor health.

Although they may be a small dog, they can also be costly like most other breeds. Make sure that before you buy this pet you can afford to keep it. Nowadays mircohipping is a necessity, as well as vaccines and worm tablets. These extra costs on top of food can really hit the budget hard. So be sure you can afford the Teacup Chihuahua before buying it.

So when it comes to buying a Teacup Chihuahua for sale it is important that you do your research on this breed beforehand. This way you can look out for any of the warning signs that may arise with the dog especially if buying from a local owner.

Focus Groups Help Pet Business Thrive in Recession

Focus Groups Help Pet Business Thrive in Recession

Kat Box King

Glen Carbon, IL (PRWEB) December 17, 2009

With today’s economy being in crisis, the news is rife with stories of small businesses closing. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy’s September 2009 report, there were 595,600 business closures and 473,546 small businesses that filed for bankruptcy in 2008. So how does a small business survive in a recession? Kat-Box King is a small business that is more than surviving; the company is thriving, with new product placement nationwide in Wal-Mart stores. Company president and founder, Sean McGivern, shares his knowledge with other small business owners on how to prosper during a recession.

Kat-Box King’s business concept derived out of necessity during McGivern’s college years; his roommate had a cat and never cleaned the litter box. McGivern decided to design a disposable litter box that was easy to use, portable and gender-specific. As a result, Kat-Box King was born.

McGivern started this business by sharing his product with friends in exchange for feedback. However, his friends only had positive things to say, which was hindering McGivern’s productivity.

McGivern says, “For a small business to thrive during this recession, you have to invest in focus groups. Your friends will give you feedback, but I learned they only tell you the positive. I needed to find out if there were or are any negatives too.”

The input provided from focus groups was essential to McGivern’s success. It is the main advice he passes along to other businesses. “If you are struggling with your product, take it to focus groups. Utilize the input and take note of the criticisms altering the product until the focus groups are satisfied.”

Kat-Box King’s product Litter to GoTM is located in over 500 Wal-Mart stores across the country.

Litter to GoTM is a portable, all in one, leak-proof, disposable litter box. It includes 5 lbs. of Ultra Clumping Litter and has a suitcase-like handle that makes it great for travel. The product is also recyclable to ensure it coincides with a household’s green efforts. Litter to GoTM allows you to change the litter box and completely dispose of it on a weekly basis, eliminating cat litter odor and preventing the spread of bacteria.

“We are very excited that The Refined Feline is in a position to move its manufacturing to the United States,” said company founder Josh Feinkind. “Not only will this allow us to ensure our products are of the highest quality, but also will help stimulate the economy right here at home.” Manufacturing in the US allows The Refined Feline to collaborate with the factories on innovation and design making products that are affordable, aesthetically pleasing and high quality.

Additionally, sourcing in the US allows for better oversight on quality as well as ensuring parts are compliant with new environmental requisition such as the California Air Resource Board (CARB) standard.

The Refined Feline’s product line-up of domestically manufactured merchandise will be available starting April 2010.

The Refined Feline is a subsidiary of RefinedKind Pet Products based in New York City. Their modern cat furniture designs have won several awards including most recently the Pet Age’s Pinnacle Award for the Cat Clouds Cat Shelf. Products include cat towers, litter boxes, and cat shelves. Customers can view their line of products at http://www.TheRefinedFeline.com.

The company will be attending the Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida March 25-27 to present the new American made designs. Booth 391

Dr. Marty Becker Picks Best In Show at Global Pet Expo

Dr. Marty Becker Picks Best In Show at Global Pet Expo

Dr. Marty Becker, “America’s Veterinarian”

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2010

Dr. Marty Becker, the popular veterinarian for “Good Morning America” and “The Dr. Oz Show,” reviewed thousands of pet products both new and time-proven to come up with his 10 favorites — “Dr. Becker’s Best” — at Global Pet Expo the massive international pet products trade show put on annually by the American Pet Products Association.

Working with his team of pet-care experts who fanned out over seven football fields’ worth of pet-care products at last weekend’s trade show, Dr. Becker narrowed his list of favorites to ten, and then chose one from that list as Best In Show.

The winner: The Tagnabbit ($ 3.99) from Petmate (Petmate.com). The winning product is also one of the show’s least expensive, an innovative clip for pet tags that allows pet-owners to switch collars without breaking fingernails on split-hooked fasteners, or needing pliers to close an “S” hook. The Tagnabbit will hit the pet retailers in July.

“The Tagnabbit was one of those products that made you smack your forehead and wonder, “Why didn’t I think of that?,” said Dr. Becker, who also writes a syndicated newspaper column (through Universal Uclick), is a regular contributor to Parade magazine and an author of best-selling pet-care books. “The clip is easy to move from one collar to the other, and fastens securely. As a veterinarian, I’m very aware of how important it is to keep current ID tags and a license on a pet, and this product just makes it easier.”

Dr. Becker and his daughter, dog-trainer Mikkel Becker Shannon, also used Global Pet Expo as a launching pad for their new Web-exclusive pet-care series premiering on the ABC News Now Web site, “The Pet Doctor With Dr. Marty Becker.” The first of these video podcasts is now up at ABCNewsNow.

Information on all 10 of Dr. Becker’s Best is available on his Web site, Dr. Marty Becker’s Pet Connection. Follow Dr. Becker on his Facebook fan page or on Twitter.

The rest of Dr. Becker’s Best:

Pet Therapy Jacket

Warm Whiskers (WarmWhiskers.com)

$ 37.99 to $ 49.99

Veterinarians know how important hot or cold therapy is for an injured pet, and the pet therapy vest keeps the packs where they need to be. The packs are secured to the vest with amazingly strong material that is easy to attach – and remove, too! Perfect for pets with arthritis or who are recovering from injury or surgery. And the jacket is reversible, for a softer fit.

AirCatditioner

AirCatditioner (AirCatditioner.com)

$ 299

Invented by a former New York City building manager, the AirCatditioner looks like an window unit air conditioner, but it houses a cat litter box – and keeps it ventilated, too. The hinged front has a small cat door, and the entire door flips down to allow for the easy cleaning of the litter box. A shelf in front of the facing allows cat to jump up to make getting through the cat door easier.

Doggie Doo Drain

Doggie Doo Drain (DoggieDooDrain.com)

$ 44.95

A plumber has invented a better way to clean the yard of pet waste. This green plastic funnel-shaped cylinder connects to a sewer or septic clean-out pipe. Put the waste in the cylinder, add a small amount of water and put the lid on. It’s gone with the rest of the sewage, on the way to the treatment plant.

Lol Dog/Wild Hares

Our Pets (OurPets.com)

$ 4.99 (LOL Dogs) and $ 6.99 (Wild Hares)

“Edgy” is the word for these plush squeaker toys, which will engage a younger group of adult pet owners. Like the popular Ugly Dolls line for kids, the Wild Hares aim to ditch the fuzzy-cute factor of so many dog toys. Tge LOL Dog line appeals to the same generation, using emoticons from texting, chat and e-mail groups. OMG — or is that OMDog? – there’s a dog toy for every mood.

Kong Wobble

Kong (KongCompany.com)

$ 17.95-$ 19.95

Kong is known for toys that eliminate boredom and prevent obesity by dispensing treats as the dog plays with the product and works to get the goodies, and the Wobble takes this concept even farther. With an easy way to screw the toy open and closed, the Wobble is a great addition to the always popular Kong line-up.

Wingabago

Playful Parrot (PlayfulParrot.com)

$ 179.95 -$ 198.95

The perfect carrier for an avian companion, this clear plastic piece of travel gear has a perch and bowls, and comes in sizes to fit birds from cockatiels to small macaws. The stainless steel door opens wide to allow for the easy and safe exit for the bird, who’ll be more comfortable even at the veterinarian’s because the pet can see everything that’s happening. A bird can even fly in the Wingabago – it’s designed to be compatible with FAA regulations.

Cat In Style Butterfly Chase

Hagen (Hagen.com)

$ 12.99

A corrugated cardboard scratching board that looks stylish without the high cost good design often carries. The curvy, comfy butterfly chase offers both a place for a cat to lounge and a place to scratch – actually, several places to scratch. Mod purple sides with abstract floral give it a Miami vibe.

BioBubble

BioBubble (BioBubblePets.com)

$ 99.99

Talk about versatile! The BioBubble is designed to be a habitat for fish, reptiles or even pet insects. Use it as an aquarium, or pop the top and add a ring to add space and ventilation. One product, suitable to many different pets, and good looking enough to be a fixture in a child’s bedroom or an office.

Power Leash

Absolutely New, Inc. (Absolutelynew.com)

$ 39.99 and $ 49.99

Work out while exercising your dog. The power leash is a 16-foot retractable leash with weights on the handle. The leash is controlled with a simple push from an index finger, and the weights are balanced for cardio-fitness – yours, of course!

10 Simple Steps to Reduce Your Pet’s Carbon Pawprint

10 Simple Steps to Reduce Your Pet’s Carbon Pawprint

San Diego (Vocus) April 16, 2010

From the 8 billion pounds of kitty litter heading to landfills each year to the effects of a pet’s carnivorous diet, pet parents should be aware of the substantial carbon footprint left by pets. To address this important matter, PETCO has developed an exclusive partnership with Greenwala.com, the leading online resource empowering people to go “green”. With the help of both Greenwala.com and Tracie Hotchner, author and host of NPR’s Gracie-Award winning show, “Cat Chat” on Sirius Radio, PETCO has compiled a list of simple ways to reduce the environmental impact of pets.

“When you consider the carbon pawprint of your pet, it also makes you think about some of the ways our own actions are affecting the environment,” said Hotchner. “I encourage pet parents to take this opportunity to make changes in their behaviors and purchases to help take all of us into a new era of environmental responsibility.”

10 Steps to Reduce Your Pet’s Carbon Pawprint:

1) Go Bio-degradable and Sustainable to Clean up Poop — Who wants to populate the landfill will plastic bags full of dog do-do? And are you aware that cat-litter made from clay is mined much like coal? Use bio-degradable poop bags when walking your dog and an eco-friendly cat-litter in the kitty box. Look for PETCO’s Natural line of litters made of corn, paper and pine pellets.

2) Think Adoption First — The HSUS estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States, of whom approximately 3-4 million are euthanized. Find the perfect addition to your family at one of PETCO’s monthly in-store national adoption events where local shelters match pets in need with parents.

3) Spay or Neuter Your Pet — Over 70K puppies and kittens are born every day. We are already at crisis mode in terms of homeless and abandoned animals. Thanks to the economy, this has only gotten worse. Help decrease the number of homeless animals in the United States by spaying or neutering your animals. Not only does it help control animal over-population and homelessness, but it also has been demonstrated to provide long-term health and behavioral benefits for pets.

4) Use Natural and Organic Pet Food — Your pets should eat the same quality foods you do. Natural, organic and holistic pet foods use proteins that are raised in sustainable, humane ways and do not contain hormones. They are preserved with natural vitamins. In addition, these healthy foods create less waste for you to clean up at the dog park. Look for the labels and see that they are full of vitamins, and nutrients and free of pesticides, and any attempt to bio-engineer the product. Check out the following high-quality brands; Halo, Blue Buffalo, and Wellness — all available at PETCO in their ‘Healthy Living Naturally’ sections.

5) Use Organic Grooming and Cleaning Products — Make cleaning product choices that are as safe for the planet as they are for you and your pets and children. Many pet shampoos and cleaning supplies use plant-based cleansers and natural bio-cultures to remove pet stains and odors. These products are completely non-toxic for pets and people, including natural flea removers. Look for Simple Solution Natural Cleaners and Earthbath Oatmeal & Aloe Totally Natural Pet Shampoo both available at PETCO stores and http://www.PETCO.com .

6) Use Organic and Sustainable Pet Accessories (Bedding, Collars and Leashes) — We humans spend a third of life sleeping. Well so do most dogs. We obviously want to be comfortable so look for organic cotton and sustainable bedding to help give your dog a sound sleep. While you are at it, you can also look to get collars, leashes and PET bottles made from recycled materials or sustainable fibers without herbicides or pesticide as well. Bison branded collars and leads are made from recycled plastic bottles from landfills that are melted and spun into fibers that are woven into strong material. PETCO Naturals line of cat feeding bowls have been produced from fully compostable corn and their dog and cat toys are made with safe, natural vegetable dyes and non-toxic organic materials.

7) Avoid Pet Toys with Harmful Toxins Such as Lead — When looking for pet toys do the same thing that you would do for your kids and that’s to read the label and avoid toys with lead in them. Lead in products are equally as harmful for pets as they are for humans. In fact, the best thing to do is to get creative and create toys from recycled items that you have laying around the house.

8) Be Active and Live a Healthy Lifestyle — Get out and get active. Not only is this a great tip for humans, but it is absolutely the best thing to do for your dog. Don’t have a dog, then let your cat run around outside but make sure there is a cat enclosure. In fact, if you want to get out with your dog, go to a dog park to play with other dogs because usually the vegetation around the park can handle your dog jumping around looking for the ball that you threw a little too hard. However, when in doubt always leash your dog, since accidents can happen.

9) Planet-Friendly Manufacturing — Choosing natural and organic based products is important. However, it’s just as important to support brands that incorporate sustainability into their everyday business practices such as packaging, ingredient sourcing and recycling. Most companies proudly share their eco-conscious efforts on their websites where you can easily find it.

10) Be Committed to Your Pet — The worse thing a pet owner could do is not be committed to them once they own one. Owning a pet is a big responsibility and not just to have fun or because it is the latest trend/fad or it was in the latest pet movie. Yes pets are fun for all ages, but they need care like a child and if you are committed to your pet it will be easier for you to also implement the other tips above.

The two finalists in each category with the most votes won a $ 15,000 first-prize and a $ 5,000 runner-up grant. Additionally, the first-place winner in the school category also received a special educational experience from Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots.

“Earth Day is about inspiring awareness and appreciation for our environment,” said David Kargas, senior group manager of public relations for Green Works natural cleaners. “Through the Green Heroes Grant Program we’re glad to be able to give back to those individuals and organizations that are making a profound difference in their communities. It’s been inspiring to see how people across America have rallied to help support the Green Heroes in their communities.”

The makers of Green Works natural cleaners began the search for America’s next Green Heroes on January 19, 2010, by asking people to nominate those who are making their communities a greener place. Out of the nearly 400 entries received, 15 preliminary finalists were selected by a panel of judges that included representatives from the Jane Goodall Institute and the makers of Green Works natural cleaners. The public was then given the opportunity to vote for the finalist they felt deserved a Green Heroes grant.

“We’re thrilled by the amount of support the Roots & Shoots network generated for this year’s Green Heroes Grant Program,” said Allison Deines, national regional director, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots. “The beauty of this program is that it not only recognizes individuals for their outstanding work, but it also inspires future green heroes to make the world a better place for people, animals and the environment we all share.”

underWAY? Uncaps New Appetite Suppressant Beverage Category

underWAY™ Uncaps New Appetite Suppressant Beverage Category

Boca Raton, Fla. (PRWEB) May 7, 2010

underWAY, the first-ever beverage scientifically formulated to suppress hunger, makes its debut this month in retail stores across North America and through an R2C Group-developed multi-media advertising campaign featuring actress, supermodel and mother Brooke Burke, co-host of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.

Developed over three years and tested in 40 weight management centers, underWAY beverages are formulated with appetite-suppressing Hero Fiber™ that slows down absorption of foods in the stomach and increases the feeling of fullness. The beverage also contains vitamins for energy and all-natural ingredients that amount to just 10 calories per 8-ounce serving, with no preservatives, sodium or sugar. underWAY comes in 16-ounce bottles and four flavors: acai pomegranate, grape, orange and green tea.

“This product line reflects our belief that appetite suppression will become the next big diet trend,” said Richard Kayne, Chief Operating Officer of Florida-based Better Health Beverages which markets underWAY beverages. “If you are going to maintain or lose weight, you have to control hunger.”

The underWAY marketing campaign is designed by Portland, Ore.-based R2C Group, the country’s largest independent consumer-direct advertising agency. Work began in 2009 on brand positioning, packaging and collateral, and includes direct response print and television advertising using 30, 60 and 120 second spots featuring Ms. Burke. The campaign intensifies in mid-April with retail-tagged ads that coincide with the product appearing on shelves at grocery, drug, wholesale club and specialty nutrition stores across North America.

“We feel the underWAY line represents an exciting breakthrough in the bottled beverage category that struggled to maintain sales volumes last year,” said Tim O’Leary, CEO of R2C Group. “Until now, products to manage appetite have been the domain of foods rather than beverages.”

Coincidentally, the campaign rollout matches Ms. Burke’s new co-hosting responsibilities for ABC’s hit show Dancing With The Stars, after she won the competition as a contestant in 2008. She also appears on The Doctors and TV Land’s new She’s Got The Look, and represents an apparel line for mothers.

The campaign features Burke in casual and glamorous studio settings. The ads conclude with Ms. Burke saying, “I’m into this (an underWAY beverage) because it helps me get into this (an evening gown).”

“I am proud to align myself with a product that provides a real solution to a pervasive problem faced by everyone — hunger pangs,” said Burke. “As a busy mother of four children with a hectic work schedule, I try to eat healthy and maintain energy. underWAY gives me an easily portable solution to keep me going to my next healthy meal or snack.”

underWAY beverages are available in 24-packs, 4-packs and single servings. Pricing is comparable to energy drinks, soft drinks, and meal replacement products. The product also is available directly from the company at http://www.tryunderway.com.

Better Health Beverage products were formulated with the supervision of Dr. Sasson Moulavi, M.D., medical director of Smart for Life™ Weight Management Centers and Better Health Beverage, both based in Boca Raton, Fla. Dr. Moulavi was educated at McGill University in Montreal and has specialized in the study and treatment of Bariatric Medicine for more than 15 years. He has created more than 20 products to help people lose weight and live healthier.
